Rural Health Group is seeking a full-time Licensed Psychologist (LP/HSP) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the position of Director of Integrated Care and Behavioral Health.  The position will require a combination of both direct clinical services and administrative responsibilities associated with leading the Behavioral Health team as well as scaled participation in the Senior Leadership teams. 

RHG is a premier provider of community-based healthcare in northeastern NC and a designated federally qualified health center (FQHC). We provide high quality culturally and linguistically appropriate services to diverse and low-income populations through a myriad of clinical, medical, mental health, education and support services. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide age appropriate, culturally and linguistically competent, succinct, biopsychosocial assessment for mental health, substance use, and medical needs in the primary care setting
  • Provide direct services to patients which include screening, support, assessment, brief intervention, and referral as deemed appropriate
  • Provide psychoeducational information as appropriate for patients and/or family members of accompanying caregivers
  • Provide consultation and feedback to primary care providers
  • Provide training to RHG staff on specific behavioral health issues (e.g., depression, mindfulness, healthy lifestyle choices, anxiety, caregiver challenges)
  • Develop and maintain familiarity with MH/SA related psychopharmacology
  • Remain current and knowledgeable about local and regional resources for mental health and substance use treatment, developing collaborative relationships where possible
  • Remain current on basic FQHC billing rules and guidelines as it relates to behavioral health integrated care delivery of services
  • Participate in outreach educational activities in the community as assigned
  • Maintain a regular schedule at assigned clinics in collaboration with the treatment teams at each clinic that best accommodates their need
  • Maintain all necessary documentation and participate in ongoing dialogue about content, quality, and organization of BH progress notes, self-management goals, care plans, etc.
  • Participate in all RHG meetings and training as directed or assigned, including (but not limited to) Senior Clinical Team, Senior Management Team, Controlled Substance Committee 
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in BH and Case Management services
  • Assist in identifying and developing new BH treatment opportunities for MH/SA patients when possible
  • Develop and participate in community partnerships that focus on both specific patient care and population health
  • Maintain and participate in local (Halifax Integrated Health Care-Leadership Team), regional (Area L AHEC), state (N.C. Community Health Center Association Behavioral Health Workgroup), national (National Community Health Center Association, Center for Medical Services) organizations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • Must be Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, NC license eligible
  • Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS) in addition to LP or LCSW is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience and prior experience working with an ethnically and culturally diverse population; at least 2 of those years working in an integrated, primary care setting. Experience in an FQHC is a plus
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, make decisions, organize tasks, and multiple priorities, and regardless of years of experience, seek supervision and consultation with peers and supervisors
  • Participate in regularly scheduled supervision
  • Tolerance and trust for ambiguous administrative situations recognizing the timing of information-sharing is based on “need to know”
  • Exhibits leadership and supervisory skills while holding professional humility in the balance
  • Good organizational skills and timely completion of tasks
  • Desire to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse population in an underserved rural setting
  • Provide administrative support and assistance to Senior Management/the Chief Medical Officer/Providers
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). and learn to use the electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
  • Possess a pleasant, open attitude and a professional awareness of boundaries with patients, providers, co-workers, and management
  • Encourage and model healthy, productive team behavior emphasizing adult interactions over parental injunctions
  • Interpersonal skills that facilitate productive and respectful interactions with co-workers of varying job classifications and with patient families in a variety of settings
  • Demonstrate an ongoing interest in learning with particular emphasis on trauma, resilience, and racism and their impact on individual and population health
  • Valid NC Driver’s License, auto insurance, willing to accept travel assignments as needed
  • Physical demands: Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, use computer keyboard and perform light lifting. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
