Facilities Maintenance Assistant

Full-time benefits-eligible maintenance position assisting Facilities Maintenance Department with required tasks.  This position will be based in the "central region" (Roanoke Rapids) of our service area, but may be asked to provide coverage and work at any/all Rural Health Group locations. Hours will generally be 8:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday; will need to be available for overtime or weekends and to answer call as required.

• Assists in maintaining exterior and interior of all RHG properties
• Performs routine maintenance and small remodeling projects
• Moves and assembles furniture and other materials as directed
• Coordinates maintenance services with approved vendors as directed by Facilities Manager
• Other duties as assigned including but not limited to, routine plumbing, replacing light bulbs, routine carpentry, electrical, and preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems

Requirements
  • Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to 1-3 years good construction or facility maintenance trades experience
  • Valid NC drivers license 
  • Knowledge of the use and care of commonly used equipment and tools, and basic and semi-skilled facility maintenance repair tasks
  • Ability to prioritize daily work 
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to use good judgment when carrying out responsibilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain pleasant, positive, effective, professional relationships with all internal and external contacts
  • Basic computer skills for use with email, preventive maintenance program, etc.

Pay rate based on experience; benefit package for full-time employees includes available group Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, and 403(b) retirement plan. Position open until filled.
