Rural Health Group, Inc., a thriving FQHC/Community Health Center serving multiple counties in northeastern North Carolina, is seeking a Director of SBHC (School Based Health Centers) Services. RHG is a well-established, primary healthcare practice group started over 40 years ago, now with 300+ employees providing excellent quality health care to our communities. This full-time position will be based at our KIPP GCP location in Gaston, North Carolina (near Roanoke Rapids); travel to other locations in the Rural Health Group service area required.

The Director of SBHC Services is responsible for the supervision of SBHC operations and delivering high quality health care. In addition, this position plays a key role in developing and coordinating activities with various school systems. The Director of SBHC Services will work with staff to support program activities in each school-based community. Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and the Director of Pediatrics.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the effective delivery of SBHC operations
  • Provide direct supervision, administrative support, and coaching to SBHC staff
  • Project management of health and wellness programs in SBHC communities
  • Collaborate with community partners, school district personnel, SBHC personnel, and faith based communities to enhance support of the SBHC program
  • Create SBHC reports for staff, administrators, and funders
  • Communicate with parents, students, and local agencies as needed
  • Plan and modify services with appropriate school personnel
  • Oversee development and updating of policies and procedures
  • Participate in program development with lead administrators
  • Plan/facilitate bi-weekly SBHC meetings
  • Plan/facilitate weekly SBHC Development meetings
  • Check Telemedicine units and clinical equipment as needed and troubleshoot
  • Ensure individual school district game plans are successful
  • Routinely evaluate staff performance to ensure that it meets RHG guidelines and standards
  • Works with Regional Directors of Clinic Services and Privacy/Security Officer to ensure corporate compliance and risk management requirements are met and maintained
  • Works with Safety Officer to ensure that the environment of care meets or exceeds all relevant/appropriate standards, including but not limited to CLIA
  • Ensure all clinical and user data is collected and reported as required by Federal Grant guidelines and RHG policies
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • College degree in population health or related field; Masters preferred
  • Outpatient medical office experience preferred
  • Able to travel between multiple locations
  • High-energy, organized, persistent individual with strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Functions effectively, independently, and efficiently in a stressful and dynamic work environment; takes initiative, handles high volume and multiple tasks, and appropriately prioritizes activities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook) and keyboarding skills; knowledge of modern office equipment.
  • Able to quickly learn to use electronic health record/medical practice management system (scheduling, registration, data entry, etc.), NC Immunization Registry, etc.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required; applicants who may serve in a translating capacity will be required to take a language assessment
